Girl groups are still on the rise. There is a new popular R&B girl group that goes by the name “Riplay” ,who are straight out Baltimore. The group consist of three members, Marshaye Hebron, her younger sister A’laiza Hebron and Kiya Hawthorne, who are between the ages of 15-17. Each of these three young ladies bring a different style and vibe to the group.Marshaye who also goes by the name Shay, has more of a Left eye type style to her, Alaiza brings more of the soft but funky aspect to the group and Kiya brings the soul to this dynamic trio. These young ladies were discovered by Ivory of Low Key Music Group who then introduced the girls to Melvin Watson, the founder and Ceo of Phantom Boyz Music LLC. Right now “Riplay” has two hit songs out called “Hate Me” and “Strange” ft. Lil Key (of Jermaine Dupris The Rap Game). Both songs instantly went viral after hitting social media. We look forward to hearing more work from this young and upcoming girl trio.
Dating these days has become so difficult. With there being so many social media outlets, it has become easier for people in relationships to cheat and easier for a single person to find and have many partners at one time. To the non serial daters and faithful people who are in committed relationships, this has become very exhausting. People are constantly screaming loyalty this and loyalty that, but who's really loyal these days?. It damn sure isn’t those people who have side chicks or side dudes who claim to love their significant other, whether it be there husband , wife, girlfriend , or boyfriend. Side people are glorified way more than ever before in this day and age of technology. Now we actually have a show dedicated to side chicks called “The Real Side Chicks Of Charlotte”. Classy much ? I didn’t think so. I wouldn’t be surprised if they introduced “The Side Dudes Of Charlotte” in the next year or so. So what is a side chick ? A chick that likes to be on your side ? Lol. No but seriously, a side chick is someone that a man deals with other than the women he is in a committed relationship with, without her knowledge.
So why are these women so content with being side chicks ? Well they feel as though being the “main chick” has too much stress involved and they like playing their part on the side. In their eyes, they get the same treatment as the main chick, just with less stress and drama. So ask yourself , have you ever been a side chick and would you agree to being a side chick?
Everyone whether they admit it or not, is looking for love or wants to be in love. It's normal for us as humans to be yearning for the attention and affection of another human being. It’s simply human nature. We're always in search for the "perfect" counterpart for ourselves, even though we know that perfect doesn't exist. Everyone has their flaws, we just have to find that person whose flaws we can accept. There are times when you will feel hopeless, like there is no one out there for you, but there is definitely somebody out there for everyone. There are times when I feel like giving up on love because I am scared to have my heart broken again, but then I remember how good it felt to be in love. To have someone who wants nothing but the best for you and will do anything to make you happy. Someone who genuinely cares about you and always wants to see a smile on your face. There is no better feeling. That’s when I tell myself, to just be patient and that there is somebody for me in the future. I just can’t settle for anything but the best. So for anybody out there looking for love, just be patient and keep an open mind. Date someone that you wouldn’t normally date. The right guy or girl may be someone you never looked at before or may not be your “type”. Look for other qualities in a potential mate other than their looks. Look pass what’s on the outside and date someone that you click with on an intellectual level. That might be the one you’ve always been looking for.
The rap industry is dominated by males with a sprinkle of female rap artist who have made a name for themselves in the past decade. There’s always new and upcoming artist male or female who seem to get a lot of love and attention by music lovers everywhere.Any upcoming artist has a fair chance is the rap game. So that brings me to one of the few female rappers who’s trying to break out into the industry. She goes by the name Lex Dime. Alexis Dominique Jones aka “Lex Dime” was born in Stratford, New Jersey, but was raised in West Philadelphia. At the age of fifteen, Alexis started out her career as a singer but was later inspired by her cousin to start rapping and has been rapping ever since. Alexis wanted to be a positive female example for her peers. Dedicating her music to uplift women and staying true to themselves. She decided to use her local fame as a platform to help bring awareness to HIV/AIDS as an educator and an advocate. She has four mixtapes out for distribution and has songs out such as “Paragon Fully Loaded”,“Back to the Future: 80s Baby”, “Str8 Dime”, All four of her mixtapes have been sold out and she is still promoting her music. She released a song this year in January titled “Heavy” and a more recent song titled “LOST Girls” featuring Suzann Christine. She credits her musical influences to hip hop rap legends such as Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah and her mentor and “big sis” MC Lyte. Lex Dime is still pushing and striving to make a name for herself in this music industry. Its will be just a matter of time before you see and hear her all over your radios and televisions if you haven't already !
